Q2. When are the ASE Scientific Sessions?

Q3. Who should attend the ASE Scientific Sessions?

A. ASE's Scientific Sessions will benefit all individuals interested in cardiovascular medicine and the multiple applications of cardiovascular ultrasound. Participation will include individuals from the fields of cardiac and vascular sonography, cardiovascular anesthesiology, cardiovascular medicine, cardiovascular surgery, pediatric cardiology, thoracic surgery, emergency medicine and nursing, as well as medical residents/fellows and students.

Q5. When will the Preliminary Program be available?

A. The Preliminary Program will be available in the fall.

Q6. How do I register for the ASE Scientific Sessions?

A. Registration opens December 3.

Faculty members will receive a separate invitation and faculty registration instructions from ASE Headquarters.

Q7. What is the full conference registration fee for the ASE Scientific Sessions?

A.
Member Rates - Members of the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) is eligible for reduced registration fees that include admission to the Scientific Sessions, including weekend symposia, the Exhibit and Poster Hall, and the President's Reception. Please note that some sessions will require a purchased ticket for admission. NEW IN 2008: All full conference member registrations include free access to ASE's 2008 Scientific Sessions online for one year!

Q8. Is there a one-day rate for attendance at the ASE Scientific Sessions?

A. Yes, the ASE offers a rate for those wishing to attend for one-day only.

Q9. What is the registration cancellation policy for the ASE Scientific Sessions?

A. All requests for refunds will be processed less a cancellation fee ($50 for ASE members, $75 for non-members). Requests must be received in writing at ASE Headquarters by Friday, May 30, 2008. No refunds will be given onsite at the ASE Scientific Sessions in Toronto. Contact registrar@asecho.org with any questions regarding your registration.

The 2008 ASE membership fees included in the full conference non-member registration rates are non-refundable in the event of registration cancellation. ASE's 2008 Membership Rates are posted online at www.asecho.org/Join/body_join.php. Attendees have the option not to accept membership in the ASE when registering for the Scientific Sessions but this does not change the attendee's overall registration rate.

Emergency refund requests (those requested after Friday, May 30, 2008) will be considered on a case-by-case basis and must be received in writing at ASE Headquarters no later than 90 days after the Scientific Sessions. Emergency refunds requested after September 11, 2008 will not be considered. Please address all requests for refunds to registrar@asecho.org.

Q10. Can I get a receipt and confirmation for my registration?

A. When registering online, you will automatically receive an official receipt and confirmation at the e-mail address provided during the registration process. Faxed or mailed registrations will be sent an official receipt and confirmation from ASE Headquarters. On-site registrants will receive a receipt onsite in Toronto. You do not need to bring your confirmation for admission to the Scientific Sessions.

Q11. Can I get a certificate of attendance?

A. Yes, ASE will have certificates of attendance for international attendees available at the registration desk in Toronto.

Q12. Who do I contact with registration questions?

A. You can email Nicole Egan at registrar@asecho.org. Or, you may call (919) 861-5574, Ext. 201. Please note that ASE does not take registrations over the phone.

Q13. How do I request a letter of invitation for visa purposes?

A. American visitors do not need a visa to enter Canada. Visitors from other countries can visit the Canadian Government web site for more information or contact the Canadian embassy, high commission or consulate responsible for their region. ASE recommends that you begin your visa application process as soon as possible. Consulates in some countries take several months to process applications. ASE offers an Official Letter of Invitation for international registrants. You can download and submit this letter with your visa application to verify the name, dates, location and purpose of ASE's 2008 Scientific Sessions. We recommend you download the latest version of Acrobat Reader before you access the letter.

Q14. What are the preliminary on-site Registration hours?

A. If you miss the May 30, 2008 deadline for preconference registration, you may register on-site at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre during the following hours:

Friday, June 6: 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Saturday, June 7: 7:00 am – 6:00 pm
Sunday, June 8: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm
Monday, June 9: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm
Tuesday, June 10: 7:00 am – 6:00 pm
Wednesday, June 11: 7:00 am – 1:30 pm

Q15. How do I make hotel or flight arrangements?

A. Attendees must make their own hotel and flight arrangements. Your hotel accommodations can be booked at a discounted rate through the ASE Housing Bureau. Housing opens for ASE and CSE members on Friday, November 9. Non-member housing opens Monday, December 3. The deadline to reserve hotel accommodations at the ASE rates is Friday, May 2, 2008.

Q17. How do I submit an Abstract?

A. Visit our Abstract Submission Page for more information. Questions can be directed to Andrea Van Hoever at avanhoever@asecho.org. Abstract submission opened Monday, October 1, 2007.

Q18. What is the deadline for abstract submissions? Do you accept late-breaking submissions?

A. The deadline for abstract submission is Friday, January 4, 2008. ASE will not accept submissions, including late-breaking clinical trials, after this deadline.

Q19. When is the ASCeXAM/ReASCE and where is it being held?

A. Visit www.echoboards.org for more information. You must be pre-registered to sit for the exam.

Q20. How do I get an Exhibitor Prospectus?

A. All companies who exhibited at the 2007 ASE Scientific Sessions in Seattle will automatically receive a prospectus. If you did not exhibit in Seattle, you can request a prospectus by completing this form.
