Innovative Learning Opportunities

IAC Echocardiography Boot Camp (Friday, June 2nd)
In partnership with the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC), ASE is offering this unique, interactive session as an opportunity to learn everything you need to know about accreditation or reaccreditation directly from IAC experts in a succinct half day format. Information covered will include:

  • Interactive case and report review
  • Using the QI Tool for the QI Measures
  • Quick Fill Reaccreditation

POCUS Basics: Ultrasound for the Critically Ill Patient (Friday, June 2nd)
This session, designed to instruct cardiologists and other echo professionals, will feature critical care/ED experts addressing their specialty’s rapidly expanding use of point of care ultrasound in the care of patients. It will feature a combination of didactic and hands-on learning opportunities. Faculty will be discussing and demonstrating:

  • Diagnosing the Cause of Shock
  • Echo-based Management of Shock
  • Volume Expansion
  • Lung Ultrasound
  • Pleural Ultrasound
  • Echocardiography During CPR
  • Ultrasound for the Bleeding Patient: eFAST
  • Venous Thrombosis

Hands-on Vascular Learning Lab (Friday, June 2nd)
Featuring vascular ultrasound experts, this exciting hands-on learning lab gives direct instruction from the experts in this field. Participants will rotate between stations in this twopart workshop. The first half will focus on clinical topics, the second will address ergonomic issues.

Part 1: Carotid and Peripheral Imaging for Atherosclerosis

  • Station 1: CIMT and 2D Carotid Imaging
  • Station 2: CIMT and 2D Carotid Imaging
  • Station 3: 3D Carotid Imaging
  • Station 4: ABI and Doppler Ultrasound

Part 2: EchoVascular Ergonomics

  • Station 1: Correct your TTE posture
  • Station 2: Correct your Vascular Posture
  • Station 3: Movement Station

Learning Labs

Course attendees have access to small-group ticketed opportunities to participate in hands-on workshops throughout the program. Four learning labs will be held concurrently with the main Scientific Sessions Program. Additional fees are required for these sessions and tickets will be sold as part of the registration process. Topics covered will be:

  • 3D Echo of Congenital Heart Disease: Image Acquisition, Optimization – Friday, June 2nd
  • 3D Volume/Function Quantification – Saturday, June 3rd
  • 3D Cropping – Sunday, June 4th
  • Myocardial Strain by Speckle Tracking – Sunday, June 4th

@LilyLeiZhang1 @echo_stepbystep @ASE360 @NadeenFaza Nice demonstration of splay artifact for aortic regurgitation! Commonly seen (and initially reported) in mitral regurgitation but the same concept applies here. And perhaps a ousting shadowing from the valve stent obscures the main jet.👏
