Call for Entries for the ASE Shark Tank Innovation Competition

ASE is committed to advancing innovation that improves cardiovascular care. The Shark Tank Innovation Competition was created to spotlight and support emerging technologies that harness the power of echocardiography to solve real clinical challenges and shape the future of the field.

Startup and early-stage companies developing technologies, software, AI tools, or diagnostic solutions that incorporate or advance the use of cardiovascular ultrasound are invited to submit their application to present at a special new event taking place Saturday, September 6, 4:45 – 5:45 PM CT at the Music City Center in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, during ASE’s 2025 Scientific Sessions. Selected organizations will pitch groundbreaking ideas to a panel of expert “sharks”—entrepreneurial and academic thought leaders who are ready to challenge and propel technologies to the next level!

All applications will be reviewed by a team of echocardiography leaders and the final group will be chosen to be present at the event. Applications must be submitted by June 16, 2025. Notification will be sent to the primary contact in July. 

Who Should Apply?
Startups and early-stage companies developing technologies, software, AI tools, or diagnostic solutions that incorporate or advance the use of echocardiography. Selected emerging technologies will be presented as part of ASE Scientific Sessions. Applicants will be evaluated before the meeting, and a group of selected organizations will be invited to participate to present at the event. 

What Are We Looking For? 

• Echo-driven or echo-relevant innovation 
• High potential for clinical impact 
• Creative solutions that align with ASE’s mission to improve cardiovascular outcomes
• All technologies submitted to the competition should: 
  • Address an unmet clinical need 
  • Have achieved series A funding milestone or are in revenue 
  • Include pre-clinical or early human clinical data

Event Format 

• 5–7 minute pitch presentations 
• Live Q&A from the Sharks 
• Finalists selected based on innovation, feasibility, and echo relevance

No Endorsement *

• Participation in the Shark Tank does not imply ASE endorsement of your company or product. ASE maintains neutrality and does not promote specific commercial interests.

Intellectual Property *

• Submitters are solely responsible for ensuring they have the rights to present the material and ideas contained in their application and pitch. ASE assumes no responsibility for IP protection or disputes.

Selection Process *

• Applications will be reviewed and selected at the discretion of ASE leadership. Submission does not guarantee participation.

Attendance *

• Applicants agree, if selected, to attend the ASE Scientific Sessions September 5-7, 2025, in Nashville, TN, to participate in the event on Saturday, September 6. Registration for up to 4 team members is free. Participants agree to pay their own expenses to attend the ASE Scientific Sessions. ASE will not cover any expenses associated with attending or presenting at this event.
